Professor Selçuk Çolakoğlu is the Founding Director of the Turkish Center for Asia-Pacific Studies (APAC).
Dr. Selçuk Çolakoğlu currently serves as a faculty member and the coordinator of the Globalisation and Development Programme at Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) in Zhuhai, China.
Prior to this, he was a faculty member in the Department of Turkish Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) in Seoul, South Korea.
In Turkey, Dr. Çolakoğlu held several administrative positions at Adnan Menderes University in Aydın. He served as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, the Chair of the Department of International Relations, and the Director of the Graduate School of Social Sciences.
He has also lectured at several other Turkish universities, including Ankara University, the Middle East Technical University, Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Pamukkale University, and the Izmir University of Economics.
Dr. Çolakoğlu's research has taken him around the world. He was a visiting research fellow at the Korea Foundation in Seoul, The Near East and South Asia (NESA) Center for Strategic Research at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C., and the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) in Sejong.
In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Çolakoğlu served as an advisor for the Center for Strategic Research (SAM) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and was Vice-President of the International Strategic Research Organization (USAK).
